One of the pieces Ann prepared was what I came to think of as "the sausage". It was quite a large piece of white, which she had folded, then pleated, then tied. The result was a tightly-packed cigar-shaped object.

As she starts to unroll her sausage, Ann is pretty excited...

As she gets further along in the unrolling, some of that wonderful green appears...

After the green, almost all of the fabric is white; apparently, the indigo didn't penetrate past the outer couple layers. We discovered that one could wrap the fabric too tightly!

 

Ann's button piece, however, was a resounding success. Sadly, we didn't get a very good picture, but be assured that both the cloth and the person are really gorgeous!
