framed hangings

All work is pieced from my own hand-dyed cotton fabrics. These small hangings are very playful for me. I design them directly on my studio wall, using my ever-expanding scrap pile the way an artist would use his palette. I sew bits of the design together as I go, and the piece grows organically until it feels finished. It's then stretched on a wooden frame so that it can be hung on the wall as you would a painting.
